Sorting the Accounts List

You can change how the accounts in the Accounts List are sorted.  You can sort your accounts alphabetically by name or sort your accounts to group them by type. This is known as the Balance Sheet Order, which groups the accounts by type (Assets, Liabilities, and Equity) as they appear in the Balance Sheet in order of liquidity (how quickly they can be turned into cash).

The arrow shows you the direction the list is currently sorted in. The arrow pointing down means the transactions are sorted in descending order: (Z to A) for words, highest to lowest order for numbers, and latest to earliest for dates. The arrow pointing up means the transactions are sorted in ascending order: (A to Z) for words, lowest to highest order for numbers, and earliest to latest for dates.
 

To sort the Accounts List:

  1. Open the Accounts List.

  2. Click Account Name to change how accounts in the list are displayed: ascending or descending.

  3. Click the sort direction arrow to reverse the sort.

  4. Click Balance Sheet Order to show your accounts grouped by type (Assets, Liabilities, and Equity) as they appear in the Balance Sheet.
